Barley, maize slip on sluggish demand

Prices of barley and maize went down by up to Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on tepid demand from consuming industries. However, other grains remained steady in thin trade. Traders said subdued demand from consuming industries against adequate stocks position mainly led to a decline in barley and maize prices. In the national capital, barley and maize fell by Rs 20 and Rs 10 to Rs 1,470-1,480 and Rs 1,290-1,295 per quintal, respectively.
